Raoul Koning

Raoul is a prevention expert at Jellinek, a leading Dutch addiction care facility. Raoul holds a master in clinical psychology. At the Jellinek he is the project leader of the peer-to-peer project Unity. Unity focuses on drug education in nightlife setting. Raoul has worked at the head office of the Dutch drug checking service 'Drugs Information and Monitoring System' (DIMS) for several years. In 2017 he switched to working for the Jellinek drug checking service in Amsterdam.

Raoul is committed to gathering complex information and translating it into clear, practical insights for a wider audience. For both Unity and the drug checking service complex information sometimes needs to be explained to people with very different backgrounds and levels of knowledge. In short conversations, it is important to quickly match the information to the needs and wishes of the conversation partner. Raoul enjoys condensing a large amount of information into useful bite-sized pieces.

Many new trends start in the nightlife, including the use of new drugs. Through Unity and the drug checking service, Raoul keeps track of the current drug trends and what information is available about the trends, for example newly emerging drugs.
